I was going to visit my grandma in Massachusetts and was coming back, my bag was taken by tsa officers. They found a souvenir bullet I got from battleship Texas, so they called over a supervisor. So he and my mom started talking.he said, “you can mail this to yourself, “we don’t even have a gun what’s he gonna do poke someone with it”, well he could do that”, ” you know what keep it.” Congratulations your saving the world one souvenir bullet at a time.

Why wouldn’t you put something like that in checked luggage, assuming you had any. Federal regs have long prohibited weapons and ammo–real or replica. If you think about it from the perspective of would-be bad guys, you can probably figure out why ammo (even absent a fully assembled gun in the same bag) is not allowed.
